COPPER'S SKI AND RIDE SCHOOL - THE NEXT STEP
Copper Mountain...Remember the instant you learned how to ride a bike? What an amazing feeling. It made all the previous falls, fears and uncertainties worthwhile because in the end, you got there. Copper's Ski and Ride School instructors remember that feeling and that plays a major role in their style of teaching. They strive to get beginners there quickly - because "taking your licks" is only fun when it comes to a double scoop of Rocky Road.
Private instruction is available throughout the winter and many resort guests come back year after year to enjoy the teachings and time spent with their favorite instructor. One-and-a-half hour, two hour, half-day and full-day options allow skiers and riders to customize their learning experience and maintain consistency in a one-on-one environment for the duration. Private sessions can be tailored to focus on special skills such as bumps, carving, or whatever the student wishes to learn.
Copper's Ski and Ride School is fast becoming known as one of the most progressive in the industry. From "Learn to Turn" sessions for beginner skiers, to "Ride the Rails" specialty sessions for advanced snowboarders, Copper has something for every age and ability level. Whether a person is looking to become comfortable getting on and off the lift, or in the air while spinning a 540 degree rotation, Copper can provide the means. Single or multiple day packaging is available for kids and adults and include instruction, lift tickets, rental equipment and a guarantee that skiers and riders will progress to the next level.
Additional programs include Progression Sessions which are available not only for skiers and snowboarders, but for Telemark skiers as well. Whether it's their first time on snow or their 101st, Progression Sessions cater to their abilities. Full and half-day sessions help students refine their skills and make the jump to the next level. For women who feel more comfortable learning while surrounded by other women, Women's Wednesdays were designed for them. Taught only by women, these classes offer a relaxed, nurturing environment allowing for not only the instruction of skiing, but an introduction to lifelong friendships. For those who really want to live the life of a Copper local, Secret Thursdays are specially designed clinics that not only show students where the best lines, untracked trees and secret stashes are, but how to ski them too.
Grownups aren't the only ones who have fun in Copper's Ski and Ride School. Ranked #1 in Mountain Living Magazine's 2003 Reader Survey, Coppers Kids' Sessions are designed to allow skiers and riders ages 3 - 15 years old to explore the mountain with kids their own age and ability level while learning new techniques. Also new this season, the resort has joined forces with Burton Snowboards to create a kid's Method Center in the Union Creek base area to help kids learn to snowboard in a fun and effective learning environment.
