Additional InformationBig changes have happened at Breckenridge in recent years so it's easy to see why Breckenridge, for the second year in a row, is the most popular resort in the country.
The resort introduced the six-passenger high-speed Independence SuperChair in December 2002, opening up 165 acres of much-needed intermediate and advanced terrain on Peak 7, including seven new trails and our favorite, the Peak 7 glades. That same season, the Peak 8 SuperConnect was also added, simplifying the transfer of skiers and riders from Peak 9 to Peak 8.
Accessing 400 acres of famed expert and advanced intermediate terrain previously only accessible via hiking, Breckenridge took skiing and riding to new heights, adding the Imperial Express SuperChair in January 2006. The Imperial Express reaches 12,840 feet and stands as the highest chairlift in North America.
Highlights from the 2006-2007 include the addition of the BreckConnect Gondola and SnowWhite - 150 acres of above tree line expert terrain accessed by the Imperial Express SuperChair. The 8-passenger gondola takes skiers, riders and visitors from town to the Peak 7 and 8 base areas.
